Poinsettia Apeture

I hope my photos show my design here, I used the Scallop Circle punch to cut an apeture then added the poinsettia to the inside.

I used:
Stamp set - Season of Joy
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Handsome Hunter, Bravo Burgundy
Ink - Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter
1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Very Vanilla
Punches - Scallop Circle, 1-3/8" Circle

If I'd had some gold brads I'd probably have have added those to the centre of the flower.

Thanks for looking,
Kathy

Soft Summer Notebook

I used a Pukka Pad A6 Project notebook as it had a plastic cover front & back so I can protect the decoration. It comes with some coloured removable dividers but I've made some clear ones from acetate & my cropadile punch so everything matches. :) A lovely present that doesn't cost the earth at about £2.

I used:
Stamp Set - Soft Summer
Cardstock = Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla
Ink - Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace, Always Artichoke
1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Very Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant
Punches - Scallop Edge, 1/16" Circle, Scallop Oval & Oval
Cropodile
Notebook
Acetate

How about making a few as Christmas gifts? Sorry I said the "C" word, but I've seen a shop with Christmas cards for sale already!! I thought September last year was early enough. I suppose next year they'll come out after Easter!

Happy Crafting!
Kathy.

Soft Summer DSP Frame

The design of this card came from the offcut of Stampin' Up! Tea & Crumpets DSP I put through my diecutting machine. I was making some frames for a workshop & couldn't bear to throw away the leftovers! The Live Your Dream stamp set matches the papers but as I don't have that set I used the Fresh Cuts set & matched the colours instead.

I used:
Designer Series Paper - Tea & Crumpets
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, Always Artichoke
Punches - Scallop Oval & Oval

As I have several more frames to diecut, I think I'm going to make several of these!

Happy Crafting,
Kathy.

Driving By #2

This card is very similar to Driving By #1 as I made the two at the same time! I'm busy making up a portfolio of cards & as I was giving away number one I decided to make two.

I used:
Stampin' Up! stamp sets - Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories
Cardstock - Whisper White, Real Red, Glorious Green
Ink - Basic Grey
Stampin' Write Markers - Bold Brights
1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Real Red
Punches - Tag & Small Tag

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Driving By #1

I made this card for my Brother-in Laws birthday which is next week, I've had loads of birthdays this week so it's kept me busy (and happy) crafting!

I used:
Stamp sets - Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories
Cardstock - Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turquiose
Ink - Basic Grey
Stampin' Write Markers - Bold Brights
1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Whisper White coloured using Tempting Turquoise marker (I haven't bought that colour (yet!)
Punches - Tag & Small Tag

Though I like the way it turned out, I wished I'd had the Tailgating roller for the background, yet another thing to add to my list!

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Deer Friend

I made this card using the masking technique:
Stamp the deer onto a post-it note, make sure the image is on the sticky end of the note
Carefully cut it out & put it to one side
Stamp the deer onto your project, then cover it with the post-it
Stamp the tree, overlapping the deer
Remove the post-it & the tree should appear behind the deer

Don't throw the post-it away as it can be used many times before the sticky wears off, I keep mine in the bottom of the stamp box. You can do the same with the tree & make a forest background.

The tree was stamped using the "Thumping" technique Abi showed me last week. I used several shades of green Stampin' Write Markers & holding the far end of the pen, thumped the brush nib onto the stamp. Use the lighter shade first & build up the colours until the whole image is covered. Give it a "Huff" & stamp. I loved the way the leaves were all different shades, just like a real tree. Thanks Abi!

Supplies used:
Stampin' Up! stamp sets - Forest Friends, Baroque Motifs
Cardstock - Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
Ink - Close to Cocoa
Stampin' Write Markers - Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Handsome Hunter, Mellow Moss
Brads - Always Artichoke from the Rich Regals collection
Corner Rounder punch

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Blue Punched Flowers

I made this card for one of my Sister-in-Laws birthday, I used the 5 petal flower punch from Stampin' Up! to make the flowers & leaves, the flower centres were made using the Boho Blossoms punch. I used Whisper White cardstock & a sponge dauber to ink the edges & a Bashful Blue brad finishes them off.

Cardstock - Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Designer Series Paper - Cutie Pie
Stampin' Up! punches - 5 Petal Flower, Boho Blossoms, Scallop Edge, Scallop Oval & Oval
Stampin' Up! stamps - Fresh Cuts
Brad - Bashful Blue from the Soft Subtles collection

Hope she likes it!
Kathy.

Princess Castle

This card was made at the same time as the Pink Castle card, so I used another topper from the sheet (princess). The CC Girls stamp set has a lovely big castle image to I used stazon ink on white card, coloured it with Sakura Stardust glitter gel pens & cut out.

If any of you have never used the Sakura gel pens before, they give the most beautiful glitter finish to a project, they can also be used with a water brush for a more subtle finish. They are quite expensive, so if you can only afford one, buy the clear to use over any colour & glam it up!

Punch Template

This is my Funky Friday challenge #30 entry.

I had the idea for this project while blog-hopping. I'd give credit where it's due but I can't find the site it was on! lol
Lesson learnt, don't forget to bookmark the great sites you find. So whoever you are, thanks for the inspiration, & your site is brilliant! :)

The idea came from a set of bookmark type templates that showed the apeture left from each of Stampin' Up!'s punches, I adapted it to make a key-ring. This set makes it easy to see if your stamp will fit the punch, or vice versa.
Surprise surprise, mine's purple & I decorated it on one side with the Simply Said stamps, I left the reverse plain except for the punch name.

I used:
Stamp set - Simply Said
Cardstock - Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace
Ink - Basic Grey
Stampin' Write Markers - Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace
Stampin' Pastels - Summer Sun
Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen - White

I'll add to the keyring as I get all the punches, nearly there! ;)

Thanks for looking!
Kathy

Pink Castle

What a perfect card for any "Girlie Girl", & this card was so easy to make with the Crafters Companion CD Rom.
I printed a backing paper & a topper sheet onto white card (I use a good quality smooth card as it gives a better finish), they've been matted & layered onto a pink card blank with some white, dark & light pink paper. I then added a pink pearl heart to the greeting panel to finish.

Hope you like it!
Kathy.

Rocking Horse

I made this card using a Sizzix rocking horse die, I die cut the shape in gold, brown & pink, cut & layered them as shown & added a gem for it's eye.
I took a Dufex card blank from which I used a scallop oval die to cut the frame. Dufex card blanks are lovely, but expensive, this way I was able to make four cards with one blank!

Hope you like it,
Kathy.

Birthday Bunny

I stamped the bunny (it's from Dimension Fourth) onto card, glittered some areas & cut her out when dry. The embossed flowers were done with the Keepsake Celebration embossing board

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Tuxedo card

I love the way this card came out! I'd seen one very similar in a book & I adapted it to make a bigger card & used printed vellum for a waistcoat.

I did a smaller version of this card for a competition a couple of years ago & won! I got lots of lovely goodies to play with, so if you're ever unsure of entering cardmaking competitions, go for it! :)

Thanks for looking!

Monochrome Shoes

This is another card from my monochrome phase, and yet another pair of shoes!
I love this shoe die (just can't wear that style anymore, would break my neck!), so this Sizzix die comes out regularly.

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Monochrome Flowers

I had a black & white phase a while back & here are a couple of my creations.
I used a Sizzix die set with matching stamp set for them. The American Stampin' Up! catalogue also does Sizzix die sets & matching stamps, I'm hoping they will be in our new catalogue coming in October as they are lovely! (Actually I'd love just about everything from the American Catalogue but it ain't gonna happen!)

Happy Crafting!
Kathy

Gone Fishing!

Another Dufex card, they produce a lot of sheets that are great for men's cards, which is something we always have trouble with.

Golfing Day

I made this card using a Dufex die-cut images sheet, I love the effect of Dufex, it's engraves foil looks very dramatic in real-life.

Floral Shoes

I made this simple card from a paper/vellum/card stack from Create & Craft. I love the colour & wish I had more of it (as if my craft room could take any more stash). lol
The shoes were die cut, along with the scallop oval. I coloured the peel-off greeting to match with a marker pen. Finally a few gems were added to the shoes.

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Baby Boy

This is another card I did for a Lowen Chy demo day. I was showing the Crafters Companion (CC) Cute Companions CD Rom together with the range of matching stamp sets.
This was a nice simple card using the alphabet & backing paper from the CD & the mouse stamp. The most complicated thing about it was the cutting out, but I tend to do that while watching TV.

Kathy.

Cute Cat

I made this card a while ago for a demo I did at Lowen Chy Crafts shop. I was demoing the Crafters Companion (CC) Girls & Boys CD Rom & matching stamp sets.

I used:
CC Girls CD Rom
CC Girls stamp set
White square card blank
Peach pearlescent paper
Gold Pearlescent paper
Black Stazon ink
Colouring pen
Gold brad

I love the way the teabag paper from the CD Rom matches the cute cat stamp, purrfect card for any cat lover (sorry couldn't resist!).

Kathy.

All a Girl Needs

I love this glam girlie card!
I used my Sizzix machine to die cut the shapes out of some glitter paper I bought from my local craft shop & added a few gems to finish it off.

Thanks for looking
Kathy.

DSP Magnet Frame Set

I've made this for my Sister-in Law as a thank-you for letting us stay with her & her Husband for a holiday in the Cotswolds in a couple of weeks time.
We are really looking forward to it as it's such a beautiful area, Rachel & her husband Ben are a lovely couple & such fun. Our son (also called Ben) can't wait because he wants to go to Legoland!

The main item is a photo frame with matching notebook & an all important pen. I added sticky magnet strip to the back so she can always have it handy on the fridge. I then made another notebook & pen set for her handbag & finally I made a matching card.

I would recommend using one of the Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers as they are a lovely quality, heavyweight paper. You could colour co-ordinate with the recipient's kitchen, or use their favourite colours, I love it so much I'm going to have to make one for myself!

I used the following items for this project:
White box maker card (a thick, sturdy cardstock)
Stampin' Up! DSP - Tea Party (from the mini catalogue) & Cutie Pie (centre flower on the card)
Certainly Celery card
Sizzix Original die - Rectangle Frame
Curvy Verses stamp set
Certainly Celery ink
So Saffron Brad from the Rich Regals collection
So Saffron 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (part of this month's free ribbon bundle promotion)
Plenty of sticky strip!
Adhesive backed magnet strip (available from most good craft shops)

It might look complicated to make but trust me, it was easy! If anyone would like to have a home workshop where I show how to make this or any other of my projects, please contact me for details.

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Simply Teabag Folding

This is another entry for Abi's Funky Friday Challenge #29 of Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Basic Grey & Whisper White. I loved the teabag folding so much I had to do another one!

I Used:
Simply Said stamp set
Cardstock in Whisper White, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery
White paper for the teabag paper
Basic Grey ink
Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery Stapin' write markers
Signo white gel pen
Certainly Celery poly-twill ribbon (part of this month's free ribbon bundle)
Scallop Edge, Scallop Square, Corner Rounder & 1/16" punches
Bashful Blue brad from the Soft Subtles collection

Thanks for Looking!
Kathy.

Just For You

Omg, I've done Abi's Funky Friday challenge on the day!!
Okay, challenge number 29 was to use Bashful Blue, Basic Grey, Certainly Celery & Whisper White.

I used:
Designer Series Paper Cutie Pie
Cardstock in Whisper White, Certainly Celery & Bashful Blue
White paper
Simply Said & Oval All stamp sets
Stampin' Up! ink in Basic Grey, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery
Brads from the Soft Subtles selection
Certainly Celery ribbon from the free ribbon bundle offer running this month
Scallop Square, Scallop Oval, Oval & 3/4" circle punches

I hope the photos show the teabag folding well, I stamped some ordinary white paper with a flower from the Simply Said set, punched each flower out using the scallop square punch, used a sponge dauber to ink the edges to show off the scallop & did a teabag folding technique. No more trying desperately to get an exact square with scissors & I love the scallop edge, it give an appearance of a flower.
I loved doing this card, I'm sure I will be using this technique again soon.

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Just Purple

Those of you who know me know how much I love purple!
If I had my way my whole house would be purple, but Hubby would object! Thinking about it, he's colour blind so how would he know? ;)

I used:
Cardstock in Whisper White & Lavender Lace
Polka Dot Punches stamp set (no longer available but many of you have it)
Spring Solitude Hostess stamp set (for the greeting)
Fast Flowers Stamp roller
Stampin' Up! ink in Lavender Lace
Scallop Edge, Scallop Circle & 1 3/8" & 1/16"circle punches
Elegant Eggplant 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Hodgepodge hardware for brad & buckle
Stick on Pearl

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Simply Said gifts

I made this card with a matching notebook & pen for my childminder who's a little gem! I don't know how she manages to fit everything into her day (with a smile) but she does & we love her to bits!

I used:
Whisper White, Bashful Blue, So Saffron & Certainly Celery cardstock
Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper
Simply Said stamp set
Stampin' Up! ink in Basic Grey, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, So Saffron & Rose Red
Striped Grosgrain ribbon in Bashful Blue
Scallop Oval & Oval punches
Notebook & pen

The idea for covering a notebook & decorating the pen came from my upline Abi, and since she taught me, I've used it alot. It's a lovely way to say "thankyou" without spending too many pennies. ;)
Thanks Abi!

See you soon,
Kathy.

Fibre Butterflies

I did this card a while ago with a friend's lovely stamp set, I really must get the fusable fibres out again as it's such a cool technique!

I used:
Pink square card blank
Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery cardstock
Bold Butterfly stamp set
Purple Stazon ink
Watercolour Vine stamp roller
Versamark ink
Glimmer Chalks
Fusable Fibres
Scallop Edge, Scallop Oval & Oval punches
Peel-off greeting
Stick on Gems

An iron & baking parchment are needed to fuse the fibres, I used an old travel iron just in case any fibres escaped, can't have sparkly fibres on Hubby's work shirt!

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Just Moved!

I made this card while keeping my fingers crossed my sister's house move goes through okay. I love this stamp set as there are so many options available.
I hope the new accessories set from the American catalogue is in our new one in October as it's fab! It's got a caravan/trailer & loads more.

I used:
Whisper White & Bashful Blue cardstock
Stampin@ Up! ink in Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery & Pretty in Pink
Assorted extra large eyelets

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Colour Swatch

I made this after seeing Abi's one which is rectangle & I had to have one!
It's so useful for colour matching, but I just had to scallop mine! :)

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Fresh Cuts#2

This was a simple card I made for Abi's Funky Friday challenge #19 which was to use Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Pretty in pink, Basic Black & Silver.
The Fresh Cuts stamp set, which includes this very detailed image, was stamped onto acetate with white stazon ink. If you've tried stamping onto acetate before, and it's smudged, try using the white stazon or the other opaque colours as it works brilliantly.

I used:
Cardstock in Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa & Pretty in Pink
Fresh Cuts stamp set
Acetate
Stazon white
Silver brads

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

It's Beautiful Acetate

I did this card for Abi's Funky Friday challenge#22, we needed to use Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Creamy Caramel, Night of Navy & Garden Green. This was very tricky for me as I only had the Night of Navy ink & a tag shape of Tempting Turquoise!

This picture doesn't show the technique very well, but I stamped the acetate with versamark ink using the It's Beautiful roller & then used clear embossing powder. The trick for heat embossing acetate is to use a low heat setting & keep the heat tool a good distance from the acetate, this way it shouldn't buckle. It takes longer but the effect is worth it!

I used:
Cardstock in Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Creamy Caramel, Nicht of Navy & Garden Green
Stampin' Up! ink in Night of Navy
It's Beautiful stamp roller
One of a Kind & Playful Petals stamp sets
Acetate (heat resistant)
Versamark ink
Clear Embossing powder
Scallop Edge, Scallop Oval, Oval, Scallop Circle & 1 3/8" Circle punches
Cutter Kit
Teal green sticky gems

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Flower Souffle#2

I'm using alot of yellow at the moment so souffle's perfect!

I used:
Popcorn Bear CD Rom for the backing paper
Yellow pearlescent card blank
Watercolour paper
Yellow paper
So Saffron striped grosgrain ribbon (from the Stampin' Up! mini catalogue)
Stampin' Up! inks in Basic Grey & More Mustard
Stampin' Write markers in Rich Regals
Corner Rounder punch

This is a simple but effective card, perfect if you're in a hurry.

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Oriental Lady

I love this Oriental Lady stamp from Creative Expressions, it's one of my favourite non-Stampin' Up! stamps.
I did my first demo at my local craft shop, Lowen Chy Crafts, with this stamp & must have done at least a dozen completely diferent cards without really trying. She was embossed, decoupaged, chalked, Twinkling H2O's were used & of course, just stamped as I have done here.

I used:
Oriental Lady stamp
Brilliance inkpad in Poppy red
Red pearl & gold pearl card
Gold vellum
Red pearl brads

Simple, but very effective, I'll put a greeting on it when I decide who to send it to! :)

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

Golfing Popcorn

It's very handy for me to have a golfing card ready, as I have a nephew who plays, though his next birthday is his 18th so I'll be doing an extra-special one then!

I used:

Ivory card blank
Gold mirror card
Watercolour card
Stampin' Up! ink in Basic Grey, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip & Bordering Blue

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

June workshop

We did some of these cards in my June workshop, & I wanted to share them with you!
My lovely ladies had a great time stamping onto acetate, die cutting & texturing the blue pearlescent cardstock.

We used:
Blue Pearl & Silver Pearl cardstock
Acetate
Baroque Motifs stamp set
White Stazon inkpad
Various Stampin' Up! punches
Various flower Sizzix flower dies
Various Sizzix texture plates

If you're interested in coming to one of my classes, please contact me (details are on the right hand side of my blog)

Thanks for looking!
Kathy

Opulent Petals

I did this card for Abi's Funky Friday challenge #21.
We needed to use Handsome Hunter, Very Vanilla, Gold, Bravo Burgundy & Elegant Eggplant.
I was told at the stampers 10 meeting that it was very opulent, hence the title!

I used:
Cardstock in Handsome Hunter, Very Vanilla, Gold, Bravo Burgundy & Elegant Eggplant
Playful Petals stamp set
Oval All stamp set
Versamark ink
Gold embossing powder
Scallop edge, Scallop Oval & Oval punches
Elegant Eggplant 1/4" grosgrain ribbon
Sizzix texture plate "Ivy Flourishes"
Gold brad

In hindsight I think I went a little over-the-top but the design could be used in a different colourway.
By the way, do you like the way I've done the pop-up? Not my idea I'm afraid, I got it from Craft Stamper magazine, & loved it so much I've been doing loads of them!

Thanks for looking,
Kathy.

10 Cards in a Bag

I did these cards a while ago at one of Abi's great stamp camps, we had a morning to make the bag & 10 cards using just one sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP), I had Tea Party from the mini catalogue, the Playful Petals stamps set which matches the paper & some colour co-ordinating cardstock.

We didn't have time to finish all the cards, but we cut everything out, made the bag & a couple of the cards. I finished off the rest of the cards later.
We had a great time & the cards everyone came up with that morning were lovely. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning, certainly beats Tesco's!

I used:
Tea Party DSP
Playful Petals stamp set
Cardstock in Whisper White, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery & Pretty in Pink
Stampin' Up! ink in Basic Black, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery
1/4" grosgrain ribbon in Whisper White
Striped grosgrain ribbon in So Saffron
Hodgepodge in Styled Silver
Silver Brads
Scallop Edge, Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Scallop Oval & Oval punches
Stick on Pearls
Stick on Gems
Silver peel-off borders

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Flower Popcorn#2

I wanted to play with my new Nestibilities Dies so I came up with this card. If you have a die cutting machine that takes these dies, you really should try them. They give great results & don't take up much room in your stash.

I used:

Octagon Nestibility Die
Popcorn Bear CD Rom for backing paper
Bunches of Love stamp set
White square card blank
Watercolour paper
Stampin' Up! ink in Basic Grey, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal & Sage Shadow

Thanks for looking!

Owl teachers' Gifts

You might have noticed these items are very similar to the Forest Friends set I did, well I did these first! I didn't have the Forest Friends stamp set when I needed to do the teacher gifts & I got this owl stamp free with a magazine.

I had 9 teachers & assistants plus the 2 office receptionists & the headmaster to make for so it was quite a challenge. I did presents for everyone because I'm currently co-chair of the Friends Committee so I guess I have had more to do with them than most Mums.

I did 10 bookmarks, 10 fridge magnets, wrapped 12 chocolate bars , 12 cards, 10 gift bags & a note block, phew! I hope everyone loved them, my son Ben certainly enjoyed giving them all out!

Next year won't be such a challenge as he'll only have one teacher & maybe a couple of assistants.

Hope this gives you some inspiration for next year, it'll come round sooner than you think!
Kathy.

Simply Said note block

Because my favourite colour is Purple I did another card & gift for Abi's Funky Friday Challenge #25, and I love it so much I'm keeping it!!

I used:
Whisper White love note
Simply Said stamp set
Black Stazon ink
Stampin' Pastels
Blender Pen
Whisper White & Orchid Opulence card
Scallop Edge, Scallop Oval & Oval punches
1/16" punch
Note block
Pen

I bought some note blocks from my local Post Office and they each had several colours of paper in them, so I put each colour together in each holder so they could be co-ordinated.
I then used my 1" circle punch to cut the corner off each page to make room for a pen. I must have been mad but it was worth it as we're always searching for a pen in our house! lol
I didn't stamp every page, just the first 20 or so, but I'm using the unstamped ones first! ;)

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Season Of Joy- Red

I did this card for Abi's Funky Friday#24 challenge, we needed to use Rose Red & Whisper White.

I Used:
Rose Red & Whisper White card
Rose Red ink
Season of Joy stamp set
Corner Rounder, Scallop Oval & Oval punches
Clear sticky gems

I didn't realise until I'd finished it that is was very similar to Abi's!
Sorry Abi, I didn't mean to case yours, but the poinsetta stamp was perfect for the colour challenge, so I guess great minds think alike!
You might have noticed I've also stamped the envelope, I like to do this so the recipient might open it first!

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.

Cause for Celebration

This card was for Abi's Funky Friday #25 challenge.
We needed to use Orchid Opulence, Basic Black & Whisper White.

I used the Cause for Celebration hostess set
Orchid Opulence, Basic Black & Whisper White card
Scallop edge punch
Basic Black ink
and some black & clear sticky gems

Thanks for looking!
Kathy.
