Talia's Birthday

I made this card for my son's school friend Talia. Talia's favourite colour is purple, she has excellent taste ;), so I had to go with Lavender Lace. I also decorated a plain gift bag & made a matching gift tag.

I always struggle with butterfly antena, my wire never comes out right, my drawing leaves much to be desired, so I tried silver elastic cord on this project.

I tied a knot at each end, folded it in half & stuck it to the reverse of the butterfly, what do you recon, good idea or maybe you have a better one?

Supplies used:
  • Stamps - Flight of the Butterfly, Happy Moments SAB
  • Ink - Lavender Lace, Whisper White Craft
  • Card - Whisper White, Lavender Lace, Sage Shadow
  • Accessories - Silver Elastic Cord, Dazzling Diamonds glitter
  • Punches - Butterfly, Scallop Circle, Word Window, 5 Petal Flower, Boho Blossoms, 1-3/8" & 1-1/4" Circles, 1/8" Circle Handheld
  • Tools - Spong Daubers, Paper Cutter, Paper Snips
  • Adhesives - Tombow Multipurpose, Snail, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals
  • Other items - Plain gift bag, Martha Stewart Border punch

Kathy.

Back to Blogging!

Dear All,

I'm very sorry I haven't posted for a while, March has been a little stressful, but hopefully April will be better!!

I have several excuses for the lack of posts:
I was poorly
Husband got poorly
Work got hectic
Google has been taking an age to upload pictures

All in all it's been a little trying this month, I have some pictures of what I've been up to lately & (Google permitting) will be posting them all in the coming days.

Hopefully you have been checking out the links on the right for inspiration, there are some very clever crafters out there.

Take care,
Kathy.

Stampers 6 Project 3

This is the 3rd of the many projects I will be making with my Stampers 6 ladies, I hope they like it! My ladies might recognise the design as I gave them all a dinky one as a little pressie last month.

I was inspired by a new Sizzix die (which I can't afford) so I've made my own version. It's remarkably simple to make & a very handy item to have in a handbag or give as a gift.

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Garden Dream
  • Ink - Close to Cocoa, Almost Amethyst
  • Card - Very Vanills, Close to Cocoa & Almost Amethyst
  • Punch - Eyelet Border & 1/8" Circle (handheld)
  • Ribbon - 1/4" Grosgrain in Very Vanilla
  • Adhesives - Stick Strip, Snail & Dimensionals
  • Tools - Paper Snips & Fiskars Cutter/Scorer
  • Other Items - Post-it notes, Calendar & Velcro Circles

I had great fun making this project & it was more simple to make than I first thought, just make sure you measure the dimensions of the post-it note block accurately & that you have a decent cutter/scorer (the Fiskars one is great for this).

Thanks for looking,
Kathy x

Cupcakes for Michaela

It was my son Ben's school friend Michaela's 6th birthday last week & Ben wanted some sweet things on her card so I came up with this.

I made a border using one of my many border punches, punching both sides. A large scallop circle was die cut, which I then embossed with a Sizzix Texturz plate & used a sponge dauber with Pretty in Pink ink.

The cupcake, greetings & inside stack of cupcakes were from the Crazy for Cupcakes set. A Word Window greeting & some Rhinestone Brads finished it off.

You might have noticed I've used the Cupcakes roller for the envelope.

Supplies:
  • Stamp set - Crazy for Cupcakes
  • Ink - Basic Grey & Pretty in Pink
  • Stampin' Write Markers - Pretty in Pink, Creamy Caramel, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana, Bordering Blue
  • Card - Pretty in Pink & Whisper White
  • Tools - Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, Word Window Punch, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Sponge Dauber, Aqua Painter
  • Accessories - Clear Phinestone Brads & Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads
  • Adhesives - Snail & Dimensionals
  • Other Items - Sizzix Scallop Circle die, Sizzix Texturz & Martha Stewart Border punch

Michaela has said she's going to marry Ben when they grow up. But as there is no room for Ben at her house, they will have to stay living where they are!! She's a little young to realise they'd share a bedroom if they were married!! lol

Happy Crafting!
